The 23rd annual AMY Awards will reward Australia's best work in digital creative, content, services and applications. There are 40 categories, including the Grand Prix, Hall of Fame, People, Campaign and Applications (product).


Special Categories

Recognises the best entry submission across all categories and criteria. The winner of this category will be judged by the third round in-house judges.

Honours a person or persons who has given outstanding service to the industry over a period of time. Is an innovative leader, nurtures talent, and is instrumental in driving the future of digital in Australia. This award is not open for entry submission.

This category recognises the best individuals' achievements of the year. The individuals that best display original thinking, creativity and overall excellence in the work that they have achieved throughout the year.

This category recognises the best digital teams of the year. The teams that best display overall excellence, original thinking, creativity and overall excellence in the work that they have achieved throughout the year. (This category is open to 'client-side' teams only)

This category recognises the best digital focused start-up of the year. The businesses that are leading the way with new, innovative and scalable digital business concepts.

This category recognises the best student work of the year. It is open to any full-time student (or group of students) of any Australian school, University, TAFE, or other tertiary educational institution.

This award category recognises the digital brilliance of a concept that never saw the light of day. This includes work for a client, covers campaigns, new technology or an application. Entries should highlight why the work was exceptional yet wasn't created.

Campaigns

This major category recognises industry best practise in the creation, delivery and execution of advertising or marketing campaigns and other public/group communications that have digital thinking at their core. Entries should highlight how the use of technology and associated digital platforms have not simply been a part of the campaign but driven its success. Winners in this category would be able to show a clear, digitally led idea that has leveraged communications and technology to its maximum benefit to a point where the communication and the technology are inextricably linked.

This major category recognises industry best practise in the creation, delivery and execution of websites and other HTML based online services and software. This includes both desktop based browser applications as well as responsive sites designed for multi-screen display. This category excludes all iOS, Android or Windows based software (these should be entered in the category below). Entries should highlight strong UX and design principles, appropriate use of technology and are a great fit for purpose (i.e. successfully delivers on the brief).

Best App will be awarded to entry/entries that demonstrate industry best practice in the creation, delivery and execution of applications, services or sites whose primary use is mobile or tablets. This major category recognises industry best practise in the creation, delivery and execution of iOS, Android and Windows-based software and services. This includes both smartphone and tablet based applications as well as Windows or other non-browser-based software applications (desktop applications, plug-ins, etc). This category excludes all HTML and responsive software such as responsive websites that can be viewed on smartphones/tablets (these should be entered in the category above). Entries should highlight strong UX and design principles, appropriate use of technology and are a great fit for purpose (i.e. successfully delivers on the brief).
