Digital Skills and Salary Report 2018

As digital transformation comes to the forefront for business in 2018, digital skills and technologies have become essential to all industries and areas of commerce, and there has been a sustained surge in the demand for digital experts to fill these roles.

Salary levels are outpacing the wider Australian workforce. The median salary of $131,500 is 56% above the Australian median of $84,000 and 75% of those working in the industry earn more than $100,000 a year.

Organisations are increasingly asking for staff that are “digital ready”. Employers are facing major challenges in skilling up staff. Likewise staff don’t feel that they have the skills they need to meet demand and are looking at developing their skill sets in current but not cutting-edge technologies.

These are the key takeaways from the Digital + Technology Collective Skills and Salary Survey for 2018. Download your copy of the report now:

In November 2017 we conducted an online survey of our members to better understand the relationship between all of these factors. Covering all major digital job categories, sectors and locations, the study provides a timely insight into salary bands and the skill levels of those working in the industry. The purpose of this report is to provide our members with a benchmark study on the current salary bands for key digital professionals and to identify significant relevant trends in the market.

We hope you find the insights in the 2018 Skills and Salary Report of benefit as your career and our industry continues to grow.
